REDEFINING HISTORY
This Barack Obama Administration plans to re-define September 11 as a

"National Service Day."

Mr. President:

During your campaign, Americans watched as you made mockery of our tradition of standing and crossing your heart when the Pledge of Allegiance was spoken. You, out of four people on the stage, were the only one  not honoring our tradition.

YES, "We noticed."

During one of your many speeches, Americans heard you say that  you intended to visit all 57 states.
We all know that Islam, not America has 57  states.

YES, "We noticed."

When President Bush leaned over at Ground Zero and gently  placed a flower on the memorial,
while you nonchalantly  tossed your flower onto the  pile without leaning  over.

YES, "We noticed."

Every time you apologized to other countries for America's position on an issue we have wondered why you don't share our  pride in this great country. When you have heard foreign leaders  berate our country and our beliefs, you have not defended us. In  fact, you insulted the British Crown beyond belief.

YES, "We noticed."

When your pastor of 20 years, "God-damned America " and said  that 9/11 was " America 's chickens coming home to roost"  and you denied having heard recriminations of that nature, we  wondered how that could be. You later disassociated yourself from that church and Pastor Wright because it was politically expedient to do so.

YES, "We  noticed."

When you announced that you would transform America , we wondered why. With all her faults, America is the  greatest country on earth. Sir, KEEP THIS IN MIND, "If not for America and the people who built her, you wouldn't be sitting in  the White House now." Prior to your election to the highest office in this Country, you were a senator from Illinois and from what we can glean from the records available, not a very remarkable one.

YES, "We noticed."

All through your campaign and even now, you have surrounded yourself with individuals who are basically unqualified for the positions for which you appointed them. Worse than that, the  majority of them are people who, like you, bear no special allegiance, respect, or affection for this country and her  traditions.

YES, "We noticed."

You are 9 months into your term and every morning millions of Americans wake up to a new horror heaped on us by you. You seek to saddle working Americans with a health care/insurance  reform package that, along with cap and trade, will bankrupt this nation.

YES, "We noticed."

We seek, by protesting, to let our representatives know that we are not in favor of  these crippling expenditures and we are  labeled "un-American","racist", "mob". We wonder how we are supposed  to let you know how frustrated we are. You have attempted to  make our protests seem isolated and insignificant. Until your appointment, Americans had the right to speak out.

YES, "We  noticed."

On September 11, 2001 there were no Republicans  or Democrats, only Americans. And we all grieved together and helped each other in whatever way we could. The attack on 9/11 was carried out because we are Americans.

And YES, "We noticed."

There were many of us who prayed that as a black president you could help unite this nation.
In six months you have done  more to destroy this nation than the attack on 9/11. You have failed us.

YES, "We noticed."

September 11 is a day of remembrance for all  Americans. You propose to make 9/11 a "National Service Day".  While we know that you don't share our reverence for 9/11, we  pray that history will report your proposal as what it is...a Disgrace.

YES, "We noticed."

You have made a mockery of  our Constitution and the office that you hold. You have embarrassed and slighted us in foreign visits and policy.

YES, "We noticed.."

We have noticed all these things. We will deal with you. When Americans come together again, it will be to remove you from office.

Thought  you might be interested in this forgotten bit  of information.........

 It  was  1987! At a lecture the other day they were  playing an old news video  of  Lt.Col. Oliver North  testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during  the  Reagan  Administration.
 
 There  was Ollie in front of God and country getting  the  third degree, but what he  said was stunning! He  was being drilled by a  senator;  'Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home  security  system?'
 
Ollie  replied, 'Yes, I did,  Sir.'
 
 The  senator continued, trying to get  a laugh out of the audience, 'Isn't that just a  little excessive?'
 
 'No,  sir,' continued  Ollie.
 
 'No? And why  not?' the senator  asked.
 
 'Because the  lives of my family and I were  threatened, sir.'
 
 'Threatened?  By whom?' the senator  questioned.
 
 'By  a terrorist, sir' Ollie  answered.
 
 'Terrorist?  What terrorist could possibly  scare you that  much?'
 
 'His name is  Osama bin Laden, sir'  Ollie replied.
 
 At  this point the senator tried to repeat the name,  but couldn't pronounce it, which  most people back then probably couldn't. A  couple of people laughed at the  attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you  so afraid of this man?' the  senator  asked.
 
 'Because, sir,  he is the most evil person alive  that I know of', Ollie  answered.

 

'And what  do you recommend we do about him?' asked the  senator.
 
 'Well,  sir, if it was up to me, I would  recommend that an assassin team be formed  to eliminate him and his men from  the face of the  earth..'
 
 The  senator disagreed with this  approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip. By the  way, that senator was Al  Gore!

Also:
 Terrorist pilot  Mohammad Atta blew up a bus  in Israel  in  1986. The Israelis captured, tried and  imprisoned him. As part of  the  Oslo  agreement with the Palestinians in  1993,  Israel  had to agree to  release  so-called 'political  prisoners.'
 
However, the  Israelis would not release any  with blood on their hands, The American  President at the time, Bill  Clinton, and his Secretary of  State, Warren Christopher, 'insisted' that all  prisoners be released.
 
 Thus  Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked  us by flying an airplane into  Tower One of the  World   Trade Center  .. This was  reported by many of the American  TV networks at the time that the terrorists were  first identified. It  was  censored in the  US   from all  later  reports. If you  agree that the American public should be made  aware of this fact, pass  this on.

THE DIFFERENCE IS OBVIOUS IF YOU BELIEVE THE CALLER

November 13, 2009 at 1:09 pm: On local Houston radio 2 days ago a private from Ft. Hood called into the AM talk show on 950AM. Since then the host has verified just to be sure that the man was indeed an injured soldier so as not to be fooled. Anyway, the private was with some others that were not critically hurt in a ward. He called in to offer the “difference” between the visit from President Bush vs the visit from President Obama.

As you stated, no one knew President Bush was coming, he just showed up. WITH NO PRESS OR CAMERAS AT ALL! The private says that he spent a lot of time visiting with EACH soldier. He said he sat on the stool at his bedside for about 5 minutes and HELD HIS HAND and spoke with him. Then he did the same with the others. He said his words were heartfelt and they had a conversation.

Compared with the visit of President Obama. First off the private said was the advance team that he said made sure there was nothing on the bedside tables Obama did not want in the pictures. (like what a bible maybe?) Then he said a man whose name he forgot came and gave them all a lecture about what they were ALLOWED TO SAY AND DO while the President was there. He said they could not speak unless HE spoke to them, and could not TOUCH him unless he touched them.

This guy you could tell was not left bashing. He said that Obama gave a prepared speech to the whole group, NO PERSONAL BEDSIDE VISITS. Then he went around and shook their hands, but still no words to them other than his prepared remarks. Then he left.

And that my friends is the difference. Just like the Dover visit. President Bush used to go a lot, but he never took the press with him. We did not know that, did we, until a couple of weeks ago.

Reasons to be Optimistic

If the red shirt thing is new to you, read below how it went for a man...

Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together.

After we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home.

No, he responded.
Heading out I asked?

No. I'm escorting a soldier home.

Going to pick him up?

No. He is with me right now. He was killed in Iraq , I'm taking him home to his family.

The realization of what he had been asked to do hit me like a punch to the gut. It was an honor for him. He told me that, although he didn't know the soldier, he had delivered the news of his passing to the soldier's family and felt as if he knew them after many conversations in so few days.

I turned back to him, extended my hand, and said, Thank you. Thank you for doing what you do so my family and I can do what we do.

Upon landing in Chicago the pilot stopped short of the gate and made the following announcement over the intercom.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to note that we have had the honor of having Sergeant Steeley of the United States Marine Corps join us on this flight He is escorting a fallen comrade back home to his family. I ask that you please remain in your seats when we open the forward door to allow Sergeant Steeley to deplane and receive his fellow soldier. We will then turn off the seat belt sign."

Without a sound, all went as requested. I noticed the sergeant saluting the casket as it was brought off the plane, and his action made me realize that I am proud to be an American.

So here's a public Thank You to our military Men and Women for what you do so we can live the way we do.

Red Fridays.

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority." We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that ... Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women a far, will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is. "We need your support and your prayers." Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something red every Friday.

PRESS RELEASE

TITLE:            “Father shoots and kills son ”

DATE:            November 6, 2009

Shortly after midnight, police officers from the California City Police Department responded to the 21200 block of Kenniston Street to a report of a gunshot victim. Officers met Robert Lee Beard, 63 years, in the front yard of the residence. Inside the home, Officers discovered Terry Lee Dillon, 36 years, deceased in the hallway. Both subjects reside at the Kenniston home and are father and son.

Beard told detectives that he had been arguing with his son earlier in the evening, over Dillon moving out of the house. Dillon had refused, so Beard retrieved a .38 pistol and threatened Dillon to leave. A struggle ensued, and Dillon was struck twice by gunfire, and died at the scene. Beard was arrested by officers and booked into County Jail in Bakersfield on a charge of murder.

The last homicide in California City was in March of 2007, when 14 year Jamesha Terry was murdered by her uncle. That case is pending in Bakersfield Court.

HAVE I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE?

Hey Lou.

I just bought a house in Cal City and even though I won’t be living there full time for a while I am coming out a couple times a month to get away from the City. (I live in Ventura Co.)
I have been reading the editorials to kind of keep track of the Park enhancements and rebuilding of the waterfall but it seems to have all gotten lost in the shuffle.  Last weekend when I took a girlfriend out there to show her around it was downright embarrassing! Besides the fact that none of the work you all were planning on doing barely got started, the place is filthy. The water is just gross. Can't they dredge it or something? And the new Parks and Rec organization seems to be non existent, there is trash everywhere and tagging and ducky-doo and the weeds and (do I) need (to) go on??

I figured since you were so active in trying to save the park you may have an idea of what’s to come.  From what I have been reading City Hall is just useless and it scares me that they are the kind of people that are running the city I’m moving to; have I made a huge mistake??

I’m sure you’re busy but any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you-

Pamela, no one is more disappointed than I. When I started the project with a couple friends, we worked one full day and we were almost 80% complete. We needed one or two more weeks and then we would have had the waterfall flowing, the grass planted and allowed others to contribute to the planting of flowers, trees, etc. The Memorial Day weekend was our goal.

Unfortunately, the city stopped us on the condition that the Public Works Director will pick up the project. They did and immediately they had the entire hill and waterfall surveyed and a preliminary layout made. That was great.
A couple of weeks later the City Council gave the Public Works Director the go-ahead to complete the “first phase.” The “first phase” could have been completed in a couple of weeks or less.

Side note: When I started cleaning the park, I admit, I did not follow code, although for the use it is intended, there really was no need, I believe. Regardless, we agreed and we were delighted that the “first phase:” Waterfall, Code-compliant walkways to the top and a few other minor things would be done immediately. That was many months ago.

Nothing has been done so far and I have been effectively asked not to meddle. Yet, I continue to push for the project, bringing it up at almost every City Council meeting. They now think it’s just a joke. I don’t.
More months went by and the July 4th that the Public Director had told me that he could finish the project, went by a long time ago.

Recently, we elected five Park Commissioners to take over the task of keeping the park beautiful and completing all jobs. I was hoping to be one of the commissioners but I was not picked. No matter. I will continue to exact pressure on the city to get this park concluded. I will make it my single-most-project to get it done.

Looking back, I got a spanking from the Public Works Director, vociferously alerting me that nothing could be done in this city without his approval. I said, “Great, then do it, so I don’t have to.” I think this delay may have something to do with proving his point of preeminence.

However that’s it. I intend to tackle this at every opportunity. Of course, now that the city has a Park Commission, they may wash their hands of the whole matter and I will have to dedicate all my time to see what the commission does. I hope to be proven wrong. Regardless, I will continue to press on the matter to its conclusion.

We are delighted that you bought a house in this city and you won’t be sorry. There are terrific people in this city, who are great assets. Conversely, we have a few stinkers, even in government, that they would rather CYA than be creative and get things done within the law.

Please continue sending us your opinions. We need a few hammers.

I am sending a copy of your e-mail and my response to Mayor Larry Adams, members of the City Council and our City Manager. I hope they can motivate others to get this project started and concluded.
I would also send it to our Public Works Director, but I do not want any repercussions now, as I’m borrowing a piece of equipment from the city to clean up the desert on the Kern County side.

Jim Hill's Letter to Senator Barbara Boxer

Some of us witnessed the arrogance of Barbara Boxer (D-CA), as she admonished a brigadier general because he addressed her as "ma'am" and not "Senator" before a Senate hearing. This letter is from a National Guard aviator and Captain for Alaska Airlines. I wonder what he would have said if he were really angry.

Madam:

You were so right on when you scolded the general on TV for using the term, "ma'am," instead of "Senator." After all , in the military, "ma'am" is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position. The general was totally wrong. You are not a person of superior rank or position. You are a member of one of the world's most corrupt organizations, the U.S. Senate, equalled only by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congress is a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors, drunks (one who killed a staffer, yet is still revered), criminals, and other low level swine who, as individuals (not all, but many), will do anything to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, all at the expense of the People of the United States and its Constitution, in order to be continually re-elected. Many democrats even want American troops killed by releasing photographs. How many of you could honestly say, "We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor"? None? One? Two? Your reaction to the general shows several things. First is your abysmal ignorance of all things military. Your treatment of the general shows you to be an elitist of the worst kind. When the general entered the military (as most of us who served) he wrote the government a blank check, offering his life to protect your derriere, now safely and comfortably ensconced in a 20 thousand dollar leather chair, paid for by the general's taxes. You repaid him for this by humiliating him in front of millions. Second is your puerile character, lack of sophistication, and arrogance which borders on the hubristic. This display of brattish behavior shows you to be a virago, termagant, harridan, nag, scold or shrew, unfit for your position, regardless of the support of the unwashed, uneducated masses who have made California into the laughing stock of the nation.

What I am writing, Senator, are the same thoughts countless millions of Americans have toward Congress, but who lack the energy, ability or time to convey them. Under the democrats, some don't even have the 44 cents to buy the stamp. Regardless of their thoughts, most realize that politicians are pretty much the same, and will vote for the one who will bring home the most bacon, even if they do consider how corrupt that person is. Lord Acton (1834 - 1902) so aptly charged, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, "Mr. Power" has had his way with all of you , and we are all the worse for it.

Finally Senator, I, too, have a title. It is "Right Wing Extremist Potential Terrorist Threat." It is not of my choosing, but was given to me by your Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. And you were offended by "ma'am"?

START A MOVEMENT TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY

SOCIAL SECURITY:

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years.
Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.

You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.
In more recent years, no congress person has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan.
For all practical purposes their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.
Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments.
For example: Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000..00 during the last years of their lives. OBAMA IS NOT BLACK

Whatever you think of our current president, he is a man who I’m sure thinks he is trying his best. However, he is not being helped by his minions and those around him. Now that the panic button has been pushed, some of them are trying hard to bring in the “race” card, making stupid racial comments against the "whites," which only goes to show how poorly his administration is operating. They are grasping at straws as they continue to sink.

That’s why the theory of this editorial contemplates that President Barack Hussein Obama is not BLACK!

  He is inexperienced GREEN: Green to the core as he’s had no experience in running a business. And don’t think that the United States is not the biggest corporation in the world. Unfortunately, President Obama has surrounded himself with equally GREEN people or people who have no business being in government at that level. When that happens, as it is, we are reverting to the Jimmy Carter days.

He is BLUE: I’m sure he feels solemn, sad, frustrated, aggravated and irritated that at every turn he is being challenged. He can’t be happy with his success rate as it keeps dropping with each passing day. He’s probably saying “What did I get myself into?” Even his advisors seem to be leading him through the wrong openings. Just think of how many people he and his Administration nominated for cabinet positions that had to be rescinded after embarrassing tax problems and others major flaws were revelaed. That would make anyone somber and introspective.

He is RED: Fury, anger, rage and a sense that partisan politics is bringing this country to a stand-still. He thought that after the first few months of his administration, he could do no wrong and just about do anything he wanted. I’m sure his cabinet and advisors thought the same thing. But they underestimated the American people. For most of the time they are a silent majority, but push the wrong button and you will unleash the wrath of those of us who see so many things wrong, so many things shoved down our throats, so may decision made with ill-fated advise and consent, that the “silent majority” is no longer silent, to Witt: The recent Town Hall Meetings across the country.

He is PURPLE: Lately, he’s been erratic, full of mystery and transformation, at times he’s even shown a touch of cruelty and arrogance. If you agree with him you are his friend forever, however, if you disagree, you are a “racist” (as per Rev. Sharpton), a non-patriot, for arguing against his position and a Nazi if you dare to stand up to him and his administration. And he says all these things through his minions, his friends and acquaintances and always with a smile. Dangerous, indeed.

He is YELLOW: In recent months he has shown to be dishonest, because he’s changed his position from when he was campaigning and does not admit it. You are wrong if you call him on it. “That’s not what I said,” “That’s not what I meant,” are his favorite phrases. Some would say he is a coward, as he lets others take the heat for him, and has a touch of betrayal if you were his friend. Just ask Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn and Reverend Jeremiah Wright and financier cum-felon and slumlord Tony Rezko, where was Barack Obama when they needed him? Being the color YELLOW also means being jealous having a touch of covetousness and deceit. To be sure, we seem to be witnessing those traits almost on a daily basis. Now what will he say about Van Jones, President Obama's "green jobs" adviser. The same guy, who in 2004 signed a statement calling for then-New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and others to launch an investigation into evidence that suggests "people within the current administration (meaning the Bush Administration), may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war." I can’t wait for President Obama to squirm out of this predicament. Who appointed this nut-case as “Green Advisor” for our country? The guy admitted he was a card-carrying Communist years ago! How was he vetted?

Finally he is WHITE: Pure as the driven snow. Clean as a nun’s habit. Truthful to a fault, he is, full of humility, innocence and reverence. Are we watching the same show? In Japan, white carnations signify death. In eastern cultures white symbolizes coldness and sterility. Right on!

No, Barack Hussein Obama is not our BLACK President, he is our Chameleon President, taking over the hues as they become necessary for him to use and fool those around him.

Am I wrong here? Do I not get it? Am I out to lunch?

I’m thinking of the fires here in Southern California. I live in Acton and I’m scared poop-less. I stand here and look up and I’m choking—not at the thought that we may be losing our home (that would be terrible, but we can always rebuild), I’m literally choking with ash, smoke and the hundreds of pollutants that fill our air. Twice I’ve left the area to be able to breathe. My lungs can’t take it much longer. Twice I’ve come back to check on our property, our animals and horses are safe, some of our valuable property is with us, my wife and children are on their way to her mother in California City. I’m sitting in my car; with the air on, keeping a vigil in what could be a catastrophe for many of us, while I decided to type this on my laptop. And it just occurred to me that all this could have been avoided twenty-five years ago, thirty years or more.

We bought our house twenty-one years ago. I remember, a Fire Captain meeting with us at the school and telling us in a town-hall meeting-like atmosphere, to make sure that we kept all brush and wild growth under control on the perimeters of our homes. I remember him saying that it was up to us to be the “first line of defense” and not allow the growth to overhaul our community. But I also remember him saying that many of the environmentalists were working against them. Instead of the Fire and Forest Departments being able to fan into the hills and control the “old growth” that is a deadly fuel for a fire, they were being cut below their knees every time they suggested doing “back-burns” or cutting old growth and foliage or “shave” hillsides.

I’m listening to the radio and they are reporting that portions of these raging fires are being fueled by growth that is over forty to sixty years old. The stuff is burning faster than if we had poured gasoline. So why were not the fire department and forest department allowed to take preventive measurements with our forest years ago?

The answer is simple. These environmental “whackos” put more value on an endangered squirrel, fish or rat, than on the value of my children, my wife and our property. To them, an undisturbed forest is their optimum goal so that these critters can live, no matter what sorrows and tragedies they might bring to people. I’m looking at an older couple right now who lost their house, which is located about a quarter of a mile from where we live. They are crying inconsolably. Can you blame them? Their life has been altered forever, and for what? So that some pseudo-do-gooder can feel venerated because he/she has done something for the ecology, Mother Nature, the earth balance?

I’d like to blame all these whackos but in reality, they just take advantage of the situation as it exists. We have to blame our State and our Federal Government for this mess. For years they have been kowtowing to the environmentalist lobby because, hey, who does not want a clean environment? I know I do, but at what cost? If you are labeled as being anti-environmentalist, you are not cool. You don’t fit with the in-crowd. You’re not in the same group of do-gooders like some of the more famous actors in Hollywood. We can’t have that, can we?

You have been led to believe that all creatures of nature come first before the human animal. If I lose my house I will be terribly upset, but I will get over it. Yesterday we lost two firemen, brave men who were trying to make it better for us. If we lose one more person because of these fires, the citizens of this community, this State and the citizens of the United States MUST get up in arms and demand that people who are qualified to do what they are supposed to do—that is to prevent catastrophes such as the one we are experiencing--be allowed to proceed, no matter what rat or squirrel, tiny fish or tortoise it affects. HUMANS ARE FIRST, everything else follows. God help us!

CIA Counterterrorism Expert: Obama and Holder 'At War' with Agency

The FBI, a domestic law enforcement agency, did not have the ability or skills needed to track down and strike the attackers overseas. The Pentagon, with F22s, nuclear aircraft carriers, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and battalions of the best armor in the history of mankind, was like an elephant attacked by a mouse — mighty, but helpless in its mammoth rage.

Our best hope was in the hands of the gray-bearded intelligence professionals who fanned out across the world. Supplementing the skeleton crew of staff officers left in the wake of President Clinton's anti-intelligence scourging of the CIA, the volunteers went to the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, to the most remote and isolated outposts in the world. Sometimes they worked with friendly forces, and sometimes they worked alone. They focused like a laser beam on one thing: Stop the next attack.

Their mission: Seek and destroy the terrorist planners, facilitators, trainers, financiers, and their infrastructure wherever they were.

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, CIA officers, both the contractors and the overextended staff officers, launched dozens of initiatives. The CIA Counterterrorism Center’s motto, “Deny, Disrupt, Destroy,” became the reason for our living. We left our families for months on end and sacrificed personal and professional lives to fight the Global War on Terror (GWOT). Google “Jihadists in Paradise,” for an unauthorized account of one of my contributions (I have been advised that I can neither confirm nor deny).

As I did my part in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa, my family tried to maintain a semblance of normalcy at home. My son was in eighth grade in September 2001. I did not see him graduate the next summer. I was home less than six months for each of the first three of his high school years.

Even with my nightly phone calls, his attitude and grades plummeted in my absence. He went from a happy, engaged, charming 13-year-old with straight A’s and a focus on the future to a sullen, uncommunicative, high school flunky. I put my successful and lucrative executive recruiting business on hold for eight years. Finally, after five years of constant travel, my family sacrifice account was overdrawn. Coming home was an option for me, and I took it.

Others did not take that option, and they sacrificed the quality of their marriages, participation in their children’s and grandchildren’s lives, the profitability of their businesses, and more. Personal and professional issues festered and rotted while they fought to keep America safe and prevented further attacks on our homeland.

In contrast, where was Eric Holder? Before leaving President Clinton’s employ, he orchestrated the pardons of several Puerto Rican separatist terrorists. Then in 2003, as a partner in the Washington law firm of Covington & Burling, Holder’s client, Chiquita Brands, admitted paying to support terrorist death squads in Colombia and paid a $25 million fine. During the time my friends worked to disrupt and destroy terrorist networks threatening America, Holder’s firm represented — for free — 16 terrorist detainees at Guantanamo.

Has he made any personal or professional sacrifices since his country was attacked in 2001? If he has, it is difficult to find them. When the special prosecutor comes calling, maybe someone from Covington & Burling can represent my colleagues for free, like they did for Lakhdar Boumedienne and 10 other terrorists in Gitmo.

The Holder/Obama Global War on the CIA (GWCIA) has only just begun, as it debuted with “grisly revelations” of revving drills, gunshots in the next cell, and threats against a terrorist’s children. The GWOT is not for the faint of heart, nor the queasy. No war ever has been. There may be slight improprieties stashed in the CIA’s closets, but the liberal-appeasing GWCIA is foolhardy and dangerous.

Mike Spann, was the first to die in the GWOT. He won’t have to worry about the Holder/Obama GWCIA. But others in the agency are very worried. While we sacrificed to achieve incremental victories, Holder and Obama plotted and schemed — not against those “evil-mongers” who killed our countrymen, but against those of us hunting the terrorists. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. The odor is not from Langley, Mr. Holder.

Open Letter to the City

Last November 3 men from California City fed this city's needy, Mr Lou Peralta, Mr. Fred Whitney and Alan Bell. While filming them as they unloaded huge truck loads of food at an airport hanger here in California City I had the opportunity to interview the recently elected Mayor, Larry Adams. During this brief interview I suggested Mr. Adams might give these men a commendation for their selfless contribution. He stated that he would. To date no such award has been presented to these men for their contribution. A commendation is mostly an acknowledgement by the Mayor on behalf of the city for works done by citizens that  have contributed selfishly to the betterment of the city. We all must remember last year we were deep into a recession that people had no idea when or how it might end. Mr Peralta seized on an opportunity to help others, called on his friends to help him and together they accomplished a great good for a city about to lose most of the food that was in their food banks. This ladies and gentlemen was a unselfish act that bettered our city and gave this city a light that it would have never had if not for the act of these men. I hope that not presenting this award was an oversight by our Mayor Larry Adams and will soon be corrected so others may be inspired to do great things for the betterment of our city in tough times.

That's really very misleading.

For one thing, prayers can be said privately, either aloud or silently, as long as they do not disrupt instruction. There is no law that prevents it. Neither is there a law against discussing the Ten Commandments or anything in the Bible as long as it is not presented as a religious service and do not infringe on instruction time. But even religious services are not forbidden as long as they are not during class time.

When I was teaching biology I always started the chapter on evolution by comparing what the textbook presented with the first page of Genesis. My belief, and my contention, is that there is no conflict. They both tell the same story in different ways. I have never understood how some people believe that God could create the heavens and the earth and everything in and on them, but that he could not have set in motion the processes described by scientists, which, by the way, are altogether beautiful once you understand them. There is in fact a major movement right now, unreported by regular journalists, to reconcile scientific and spiritual matters. The movement includes Nobel Prize winners and the Dalai Lama, as well as many many Christians. But these are the Christians that do not call themselves the "religious right", so the "religious right" does not count them. I can recommend some very good writing on this subject if you're interested.

During the last few years that I taught we had lunchtime meetings, in a classroom, led by youth ministers from a local church and by teachers. We did provide pizza, and I know that some students came just for that, but the majority of them were sincere in their searching and the practicing of their faith. There was nothing illegal about it. The people who say that things like this don't happen or can't happen are simply not telling the truth and I suspect that many of them know that they are not telling the truth.

What there is not anymore is the formal prayer that once started off the school day, led by somebody over the school speaker system. And I'm sure that not all schools are the same, that some are more accepting than others. But in my experience the crackdown on religion that some people would have you believe simply did not exist.

It's just that it cannot take up class time. I don't know about you, but I can say a prayer without anybody even knowing it. I don't need anybody's approval or permission. I can do it in ten seconds between classes. When I have more time I can devote more time to it if I choose. This is just another hate tactic being put out by the haters who seem to hate anything that there is any possibility of hating. I would hope that not many Christians are among the haters, but unfortunately I know that there are many who see no conflict between hating and being a Christian, and THAT is perverted.

The "religious right" is a contradiction in terms.

If you think about it from someone like me, who is not particular religious, why should I be subjected to praying and what not if it is not who I am or how I was raised. When I was in school I did say and continue to say the word God in the Pledge but really, it is not who I am. I don't make a fuss out of it and am certainly not going to protest it but one could write a poem about being forced to say something that one does not believe in.

MR. AXLEROD WANTS US TO READ THE "TRUTH" ABOUT HEALTHCARE INSURANCE

RESPONSE TO DAVD AXLEROD'S ASSERTIONS

Sorry, when you write something so complicated with so many holes, with so many references, and hidden agendas, the best thing is to err on the side of caution and not agree with it.
I’ve downloaded the entire Bill and while I’m not the smartest man in block, I can see where there are so many huge holes in it that you can drive a truck through.

I challenge you and the Administration to write the Bill and explain it all in one page, two pages tops! On top of the page you must state: “If it’s not specifically listed herein you must assume that it does not pertain to this Bill.”

Sorry, but what I’d like to see is you guys pull back and start from scratch and this time don’t let hacks write the Bill. No addendums, no amendments, no special perks, no side-bars, no double, triple and even quadruple cross-references, nothing. If it’s not specifically mentioned on the page, it’s NOT in the Bill.
Honestly, after reading a little over 800 pages of the 1018-page Bill, plus jumping back and forth, I can’t understand what the Administration really wants to do. Isn’t that pathetic? Why so complicated. Is it because most of you are lawyers and are trying to impress other lawyers, or really tackle the problems for the people.

You make it simple and concise so that the normally educated person, the less fortunate or even the poorly educated (like a great majority of the people who voted for President Obama), plus keep the hacks in Congress and Senate out of it(some who voted for it without having read it or understanding it), I’ll consider supporting it. Otherwise, you have the biggest detractor of your Bill that you’ve ever had and I'll continue to fight not to support it.

For years now, I’ve been grappling with the national dilemma of healthcare and the costs of insurance, among many other governmental problems. With respect to healthcare, there are too many people without it, too many people who are getting it but don’t deserve it such as illegal aliens, and a few who don’t want it and are willing to take a chance to go without it because of their youth or their invincibility syndrome. Others seem to be happy with their current healthcare plan, and still others struggle to make the payments but do so, regardless.
Recently, the debate has become even more heated, controversial and confusing. Today, it all came to a head, while watching Senator Arlen Specter (originally a Republican, now a Democrat) at a town hall meeting live from Pennsylvania. I’ve had the answer on my mind for years and I had forgotten how it all ties together. The answer to the healthcare debate is not figuring out how to structure it, but first resolving ancillary dilemmas that will help resolve the core of the health care issue.
Just in the last couple of weeks I’ve been reading the 1018-page HR Healthcare Bill (for those interested, here’s the link to read it and/or download it: http://docs.house.gov/edlabor/AAHCA-BillText-071409.pdf.) I must tell you that it has been quite a sobering experience for me. I thought I was educated and smart enough to read through complicated documents and get the gist of its contents. Apparently, I’m not. If you know me, this is terribly disappointing, as I fancied myself the know-it-all guy.
Nonetheless, I think I have come up with the answer, and it’s not directly addressing the healthcare issue (although it will ultimately affect it) but the answer lies further up the chain of causes: the number one and the number two issues in my opinion. Allow me to start with number two first:

What this does is to make certain that every elected official has the incentive and the duty to work from the first day on the job until the last day, when a new elected official takes over. It guarantees the people of the United States that we are getting the most for our money. Without fears of re-election and compromises to get funds for a political campaign, the elected official will concentrate in doing the best job possible because of the “Grading” vote that he/she will ultimately receive.
Think about it, folks. No more favors to potential voters or lobbyists or special interest groups. No more stepping on your principals for the sake of getting re-elected. A Senator or Congressman, for example, embroiled in the current debate over the healthcare issue will vote with his/her heart not for his/her “war chest” and who can fill it best. If he or she does not have to worry about being re-elected, our elected officials will do the right thing, which usually reflects what the majority of his constituents want them to do.
Think of all the problems that the new election system will solve:

My proposals may sound simplistic, or it may sound too complicated for some. It may seem impossible or improbable to others. I, on the other hand, am an eternal optimist. I believe in the power of the people to make things happen. I believe in the American spirit, who throughout history has risen to the occasions and levels beyond expectations.
At this juncture, we find ourselves in those times. I can feel the surge of the common people who are saying, enough is enough! I feel the tingle on the back of my neck when I hear friends and acquaintances speak, perhaps for the first time in years, of the absurdities, irrationalities and craziness of our government, whether Republican or Democrat. I believe the sleeping giant (the American People), has been awaken and they don’t want to fall pray again to the same hacks (professional politicians) who have been running and for the most part ruining our government. The American people want the old standards of decency, real honesty by real people who for a while will serve this country of ours and not become professional elected officials. They do not want the tainted “modus operandi” of the close-knit family of politicos. They don’t want others to decide for us by bending the principles that make the United State of America what it is…what it was.
The time has come for U.S. citizens to revolt against the status-quo of government, and begin to bring back the spirit of over 200 years ago, which drove us to become a free Nation with eternal hope. The same “spirit” that drove this Peruvian-born American (citizen of the U.S. since 1960) and his family to leave his home country for a better place; for a place where the toils of my father and mother mattered, where their sweat counted and where they led by example, thus bestowing upon my sister and me with the paradigm that anything is possible if you have the will to work hard, to develop, grow, invest, attempt, and be ready to fail or succeed.
And above all to continue to strive and persist to keep this country as the greatest Country in the world!

May GOD, guide us in this revolt!

• You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.
• You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.
• You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.
• You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.
• You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.
• You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view. You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.
