CONGRESSMAN MCCARTHY TAKES LUNCH IN CAL CITY

California City, CA – August 26, 2009 – Congressman Kevin McCarthy (R) of the 22^nd second district in California made an appearance at California City’s Foxy’s Restaurant, Cal City Airport, to meet and greet approximately fifty to sixty-five local citizens, mostly from Cal City. This gathering was slated by the California EDC in order to receive an update from the current situation in Washington, D.C. Although this was not billed as a “Town Hall Meeting” – that will take place later tonight in Ridgecrest where approximately 2500-plus are expected to attend--Congressman McCarthy was gracious to meet with everyone, and present a small recapitulation of facts in Washington, D.C., especially with the current health bill and indeed answer a few questions. It was a civilized meeting, with no contentious feedback, mainly because those in attendance are mostly Republican, as is the Congressman. The whole affair lasted a bit over an hour and everyone seemed to be very impressed with Congressman McCarthy, wished him well. One of the main questions asked of the Congressman was how do we get rid of some of the Democrats in the State and especially Ms. Palosi. The Congressman seemed flustered at the questions and his best answer is to bring new Republicans to challenge her.
